We have done lot of work at the school already. We have heat in the entire building and it is rented nearly every weekend. To rent the building call Judy Wilson.
The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival will be our biggest fund raiser every year. We will need all of the volunteers we can get. The festival in 2008 begins Friday October 10th and runs through Sunday the 19th. Please contact Judy Wilson at 765 569-2705 if you can work any day during the festival. We can use all kinds of help at this time. Please call Judy if you can help in any way. It will be a lot of work but also a lot of fun and for a very good cause!!!
We also need volunteers to help with all of our fundraisers during 2008. We are planning another car show and many other exciting activities :)
We have applied for a grant in the amount of $160,000.00 to replace the roof and guttering on the old school building. We will know in June if our application was accepted. We are seeking donations to use as matching funds. We will need around $20,000.00 in matching funds in order to receive this grant. We have received grants from the Parke County Community Foundation and Duke Energy and have applied for many others.
